Pictures and other things....

Before we start, these are two pics we took for our blogger buddy, JTI. JTI, feel free to copy these for your own personal use, or talk to me (Sunny) to get them developed/on a memory stick.

So on Sunday we, me, Dessy, Kote, Rebecca, and Wilson/Spock, took a bunch of pictures which I will share with you now. Also, I decided to share my photos on flickr. Go to www.flickr.com/sunny-smith to see them! And now for the pics,
Our feet!
These is our shoes at the edge of the sand in the park.
This is Rebecca, Kote, and Dessy under the green umbrella!
This is Dessy holding a fabric flower.
Do I really need to explain this one?

Hope you enjoyed! Have a nice summer.

Burning House 2 and. . . eww. . . .

First off, let me explain the "eww" part of my title. Dad knows I love ninjas, and he sees this movie in the bargain bin at WalMart called, you guessed it, Ninja.

So ok, we start to watch it. Five, maybe ten minutes into it, I leave. Now, here I am, on the computer, and even with the door closed, I can still hear the blood splattering all over the place. Suffice to say, that movie is way, way, way too gory for me. I mean, sometimes you can just hear the blood splatter, or see blood spray the wall, or even see the blade pierce or slice the victim, and that's fine with me, but in this movie, you see much more violence in much more detail (like a close-up of the throwing star embedded into the person's neck, for example), and I just can't stomach that.

ANYWAY!! Enough grossness. On to the other part of the post.

You know, we've actually had a fire in our house before. It was contained in the furnace, thank God (literally! people say that so flippantly, but I mean it. Thank you, God, that the fire was contained in the furnace, and nothing else was lost, and no one was hurt.). Still, firemen came and everything. That was like, 3 years ago? I still had my pet mouse, who lived for two years, and I remember having my mouse on my 13th birthday party. Soo yea. But I digress. . . .

Hmm, what would I take? Since I'm lazy, I'm not going to gather things up and take a picture.

1-My camera. Mostly for insurance purposes, b/c I took pictures of some of our stuff 1(like movies and games, and electronics), and b/c there's still pictures on their dating allll the way back to the youth retreat.

2-this one binder, in which I have made lists of some of our stuff, for insurance purposes.

3-Hmm...which stuffed toys to save? I love so many of them....well, how about...Missy and Cheeser (these two little beanie baby mice that I've had forever), and Jet, this pink stuffed bear that I've been sleeping with every night for the past 2 or 3 years, which I got from Dad for Valentine's Day. And these two long-limbed, velcro-handed monkeys, if I have time. Or maybe Beary, the oldest stuffed toy I have (I got him on my first Christmas. I was only 4 months old!) Anyway, enough about them.

4-My writings and ideas for books are scattered throughout various notebooks, but there's a certain two that I'd probably want to grab.

5-THE KITTY!! I just remembered him. He'd proabably be the first thing I rescue. Rush over, stuff him in his cat carrier, toss all the things I want to save in their with him, and run! X)

6-my wallet, with my bank card, and library card and (no) money. ;)

7-my ipod. tunes! :D

8-you know, It just occurred to me. Sunny, if your house burns to the ground, your house key will be useless.

9-everything else. ok? everything else. Fire is one of my phobias. I'm terrified that our house will catch fire, and we'll all be standing outside in our pajamas, watching as everything we own is engulfed in flame, and we'll be left completely peniless (even more so than we are now). I don't want to lose my beloved stuffed toys, or all our movies and games, (because that's what we do in our down time, we watch movies and play games) or my bed and pillow and blanket, or my writing or jewlery or clothing or perfume or figurines or barbies with the barbie house that mom made out of plastic canvas, or my books or anything! And I know that Christians are supposed to rely on God for everything and not care too much about earthly belongings, but I can't seem to do that, and then I feel like God will burn down my house to MAKE me do that and then I get scared all over again and I try not to care but I DO!!!!

. . . . . . wow. Please pardon my complete and utter spaz, ok? yeah. . . . .Well, I'm going to go eat chips. See ya.

The Burning House

So, stumbling around on the internet one day when I was procrastinating (who really WANTS to do HOMEWORK in the LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL?!) I found this really cool site. It's called, you guessed it, The Burning House. It's a collection of pictures. The pictures are the things that people would bring with them if their house was burning down. It's really neat, and almost like a little peek into someone's priorities, and passions. I was planning to take a picture of my own things that I'd bring with me, but my camera is being "dumb" (as Kote would say), and needs a new lithium battery. ANYWAYS, I made a list instead, ya'll are welcome to make your own list in the comments section:) But first, I choice a picture that I liked from The Burning House.

Actually, I'm writing this on lunch break, and I don't have time to make a list. Stay tuned for my list, and possibly a picture if I can get my hands on a camera. Anyways here's the link, check it out!

EDIT: So I've had time to take a bit of a crappy picture (I used my webcam. This is one of those don't ask, don't tell situations...:P) Here it is:

And here's the list of things in the photo:
-A lamb stuff animal I've had forever that smells like baby powder
-My school bag with my binder (it's under the lamb). There's no way I'd let all those papers burn when exams are in two weeks!
-My Vancouver Olympic mitts my dad gave me the Christmas before the Olympics were in Canada (woot!!)
-My Laptop. So that little drawing between the mitts is supposed to represent my laptop since I took the picture with it. This would definitely be my first priority (after my family of course) since I have everything on it (pictures, journals, writing, music ect.)
-My dictionary. It's from the 80s, so it's horribly out of date, but I thrifted it for a toonie! It's been most helpful in my reading/writing ventures!
-One of my recent scrapbooks. Kote gave me this for my birthday last year, and I've filled it up with movie stubs, theater tickets, a postcard from a friend that praises my writing, and a picture of my Grandma and me.
-My doggie. Yes, that ugly, dirty beat-up stuffed animal. I sleep with it EVERY night, and I've had it forever. It's a keeper.
-My writer's journal. This is probably another priority item. Has plot lines, random scenes, ideas, mind maps to kingdom come in it. Not to mention character sketches...
-My writer's folder (tucked inside writer's journal) Contains all my loose story notes (mostly on the backs of math and science worksheets, lol), Kote's drawings of my characters, loose writing (edited scene for story course, short stories ect.)
-My favourite bottle from my bottle collection. My grandpa gave me it. It says "Crush" on it. Yes, as in cream soda...
-A copy of Little Women from the 60s that used to be my mom's. I love the story, even though I love the cover and look of the book more!
-A little bookmark that represents my guitar. I'd take my guitar if I had time to grab it.
-Owl earings
-Necklace my Grandparents gave me
-Sketch book, and Exercise Notebook with the first drafts of my stories. Awful writing, but it has sentimental value.
- My ipod, need I say more?
-My house key with a cool wooden keychain on it.
-My wallet with my kpl card, debit card, student card, and money *cough cough* haha, riiiight
-Oh, and how I could I forget about my archery book. I rescued that book from Jaye's garbage, and used it to write a scene where my character learned how to be an archer. It's super handy.

That about sums it up! Of course, I'd get my family out first, but if I had time I'd certainly try to take all these things. It's a little bit sad the number of things I wanted to take, but they all seemed important to me. Ah well, I'm not going to go one about materialistic desires....

I encourage you to put what you'd bring in the comments!

Woooow, this is one loooooooong post!

Excitments: June

So now it is MY turn to post about what I am excited for in June! I am really happy that I've started a lil' trend here! ;D

First of all, SCHOOL ENDING! Obviously! I totally can't wait for the summer! I want to post about what I'm excited about for the whole summer like Kota did, but I'm gonna try to restrain myself and limit it to ONLY June stuff!

2-German school Graduation; yes, I go to German school...it's torture but I'm excited because I bought a cute dress for it yesterday! Also, my brother Hunter and I usually have to miss Youth that Friday cuz the two conflict but this year there's no Youth on that Friday! :D
3-the Youth BBQ; I looove BBQ's. I might even have a little obsession with them! ;P

I am Canadian but I loove that show! It DID start on May 31st but it's running throughout June and the whole summer....but it does happen in June so that's why it is in this Excitements blog.
5-NO MORE PIANO!; I take piano lessons...I took them when I was little like grades 2-4(ish) and then last year and this year...I discovered early this year that I HATE them but my teacher makes us pay for the entire year at the beginning (whatta sneaky one), so my parents said I had to go through the whole year! Sunday is the recital and then I'll be done forever! :D :D She said that I had to keep practicing until the end of school, but she won't know whether I do or not! MWA HA HA HAAAA!
6-Youth minigolf! It's in two Fridays from today and I'm pretty excited because I heart Youth!!!! But I hope Dakota's brother (Wilson) doesn't get hit with a golf club again! /: I have to say I was more worried about him than Dakota was when it happened... $;

That's about it!(:
Look forward to next months!

Also, check out Dakota's post entitled; "The Computer Room" below mine! I posted right after her! ;P

The Computer Room

I know I just blogged, but I wanted to blog again (how rare). However, I was unsure of what to blog about. Then, I thought back to the ideas Sunny posted about once, ideas of what to do when you don't know what to blog about. One of them was to take the ugliest thing in the room and tell how you would make it pretty. Last time I had said that the entire room was ugly (which is still true) and left it at that. But now, I feel like elaborating, and telling how it could be helped. So, here we go.

1. This room needs a new coat of paint. BADLY. Its been the same light blue-ish (now a dirty light blue-ish) color for as long as I can remember. You may think that's not so bad, and I guess it isn't, but still....I never knew blue could be so ugly. I would paint it....I have no idea. Something light and warm and fun, and something that compliments the dark brown laminate floor (the only really nice-looking thing in the room).

2. The curtains. Too thin, and black with a strange pattern on them. I wouldn't know what color curtain to get, though, until I'd painted the walls. ;)

3 That pile of dirty clothes and blankets in the corner of the room needs to be taken care of, as well as that laundry hamper filled with wood (huh?! what?!).

4. The top of the hi-fi (you heard me) as well as the top of the computer table needs to be cleaned off of papers, computer games, and other random junk.

5. A nice door for that closet in the corner of the room might help....

6. That big exercise machine could be shifted a little to make more floor space.

7. This entire room needs to be dusted and swept.

8. Perhaps we could find a better way of storing the wires for stuff than by hanging them on a hat rack?

9. A nice wall clock couldn't hurt the look of the room, plus then you could actually see what time it was.

10. Could we maybe pile the rolls of toilet paper and napkins in the closet, where they belong, instead of helter-skelter around the room?

Ok, I think, if we did all that (which we won't. at least, not the painting and new curtains part), the room might actually look nice. Otherwise, its a mess. A MESS, I TELL YOU!  Anyway, there's my spontaneous post (a.k.a., my rant) for all y'all to enjoy (or not). And now, I bid thee scram. Go find something intelligent to do! ;)

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Apparently, I'm supposed to be excited for stuff.

Btw, read Sunny's post first. It's the one right below mine, with the title all in caps. Have you read it? Good.

Now, of course I'm excited for the end of school, the youth bbq, movie nights, and most of the other things on Sunny's list (not So You Think You Can Dance, tho, we don't get any channels). I am, along with my brother, VERY excited for Merlin (WOOOOOOOT!!), and in accordance with that, also getting rid of Bell and going to this place called TechSavvy, who have a MUCH better download plan. Unfortunately for us, we have to wait until September to do that, b/c apparently we have a contract, and would be charged $100 to get out of it early. So, we must wait. But anyway......

Other things I'm excited for this summer? OOO! VBS! :D I <3 volunteering at that, along with my friends, and this year, our brothers too! :O shocker. ;)

Also....my birthday! In August.

Things I'm not excited for this summer? Bugs. I hate bugs. I can't stand bugs. Bugs scare me to death. Why? I don't know. Is there a scientific name for the fear of bugs? Like, Bugaphobia? :P

Other things I'm not excited for? The heat. Don't get me wrong, I like a nice hot summer day as much as the next person, the kind of day perfect for swimming (ooo! Another exciting thing) and kicking back with a lemondade. But it makes sleeping a nightmare (no pun intended), especially if it's humid. Ugh! Humidity! The sticky wet grossness of summer air, bane of fun and comfort.

Annnnywayyy, PSYCH SEASON 5 ARRIVED A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND WE'VE ALREADY WATCHED HALF THE EPISODES!!! There was one about ninjas (which was hilarious, and which I absolutely adored, btw. I <3 ninja's, if any of you guys out there missed that), one about drag racing, one about tap dancing (also <3!), and one about aliens, just to name a few.

Anything else I'm looking forward to? Hmm....writing, maybe. Being lazy, definitely. Maybe finding something that intrests me, something artsy, or awesome. Well, really, awesome is the epitome of artsy.

I gtg! I have to....well, that's really none of your business, now is it? ;)

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

So last month Dessy suggested at the beginning of the month we make a post about what were excited for in June. Now I think this is pretty obvious but....

I'm not to keen on exams, but summer, oh yes I'm excited! Here's a list of other things I'm excited for:
-So You Think You Can Dance just started last week! That means a whole summer of dancing on TV!
-I might be trading rooms with someone in my house! So I get a new room!!! Maybe...
-My dad is going to make cheesecake for my mom's birthday! BAKED CHEESECAKE! DID YOU HEAR THAT?! THAT IS AWWWWWWWWWESOME!!!:D:D:D:D:Dyes, be envious....:P
-I'm excited for blogging
-I'm excited for writing
-I'm excited for MERLIN!!! Although that doesn't start till Sept/Oct. I'M EXCITED FOR IT NOW!!!
-I'm excited for a possible movie night with the girls!
-Youth BBQ
-taking lots of pictures

That's about it, I think. I'm watching SYTYD right now, so I'm a gonna goooooooooooooo!

P.S. Kote, and Dessy don't forget to post!
